This past weekend we took Alexis on her first camping trip. We were a little nervous becasue we didn't know how she would handle it and wow did she surprise us!! She had a blast! Grandma, Papa and our good friends Matt, RaeAnn and Caelum join us too!! We left Thursday afternoon and headed up north to a campground by Eagles Nest. Friday morning we woke up and had some yummy breakfast and then headed over to the pond/stream to have the kids do some fishing. Papa bought Alexis a pink Princess fishing pole and Caelum a Cars fishing pole. The kids had a blast trying to catch fish. Sad day no one caught any fish! Later that night we cooked dinner, play games and enjoyed some yummy smores. On Saturday we went to Red River for the day. I loved that town!! So fun! Alexis and Caelum rode go karts for the first time!! Alexis was a little scared at first, but once she got going she loved it. We walked around the town for a bit and then grabbed some pizza. We made sure to stop by the candy store and get some fudge!!On our way back to our camp site we stopped by a stable so Alexis could pet some horses. Wow she was on cloud 9! Later that night Grandma cooked dinner, we built a camp fire and enjoyed some more smores. The next morning we cooked breakfast and packed up camp. When we told the kids we were leaving they both started crying. They had so much fun!! We hope to make this an annual trip!! We had a blast!
