Every year ever since I can remember we have taken an annual trip to my Aunt and Uncle's cabin near Chama, NM. Their cabin is more like a home that over looks Heron lake with wonderful views. We took Alexis for the first time in July 2009 when she was 5 months old and thought she would really enjoy the trip this year since she is older. We left early Friday morning and headed up north for a weekend at the lake. I was a little worried traveling with a 3 year old and a 2 month old, but they both did AMAZING!! I couldn't have asked for better behaved girls. We went straight to the lake and met Uncle Ken and Papa at the marina to get on the boat. Alexis has been waiting for this day for weeks! Once she saw the boat she got so excited. Matt and I were more excited to see the excitement through Alexis than for ourselves. We spent the afternoon on the boat eating lunch and cruising around the lake. After our boat ride we headed back to the cabin to hang out and get dinner ready. While the women prepared dinner the men took Alexis on a hike. After dinner we relaxed outside and enjoyed each others company. Saturday we took it easy in the morning and were planning on going on the boat again, but the wind really picked up so that meant it would be one bumpy ride on the boat. So we decided to head into town for lunch and so Alexis could check out the train station and feed the deer. Alexis loved watching the train come in and enjoyed a very large popsicle Aunt Abby bought her. On our way back to the cabin we stopped by the Brazos so Alexis could feed the deer, which she LOVED and kept saying "Come her my deer I have your food. " After deer feeding we headed back to the cabin for dinner and more R&R. On Sunday we woke up bright and early and headed out on the boat before the winds picked up again. Alexis had a blast watching Daddy and Papa fish and was so excited when Papa caught 2 fish!! We had such a wonderful weekend and look forward to many more lake trips in the future.

Would you believe this is a playhouse?? Well it is. A family with a cabin by my Uncle and Aunt's cabin built this playhouse for their kids and said any of kids in our family are welcome to play in it. All I can say is AMAZING!!! Alexis could have played in the house for days!! When it was time to head back to the cabin Alexis said "Daddy please make me one at my house. " LOL Matt is actually in the process of building Alexis and Kaylee a playhouse, but sorry girls it will not be this big. LOL
