Big Girl Bed!!!

So Matt and I were playing with Alexis in her room the other night and we thought we would change her crib into her toddler bed. I thought we would try it out for a night and see how she did and then decide if she was ready. As Matt was changing the railing I actually sat there watching with tears in my eyes!! I can't believe it was time for this!! I want my little baby girl back!! Oh well she is so much fun now and I wouldn' change it for the world! The first night she did AMAZING in her big girl bed!! We read her a book and laid her down in her bed to fall asleep. I went to check on her a few minutes later and she was ASLEEP!! Early the next morning I woke up and went to check on her again and she was actually sleeping on the floor. It was so cute, but I felt bad at the same time. We are now 5days/nights into the big girl bed and she is sleeping so well and sitting there waiting for us to get her in the morning. We hear her calling for us "Mama, Daddy, Mama, Daddy." And when we open the door she looks so adorable sitting on her bed with a big smile on her face.

I was a little worried about nap times since she has day light and can see that she can get out. The first nap she took in her bed I walked in 30 mins later to see her with EVERY stuffed animal and all her books on her bed. (I didn't get a picture, Bummer!) So needless to say the first nap wasn't as good as the nights. But she has taken many more naps on her bed and now she says in bed for the whole nap and even SLEEPS!! She is truly a blessing!! My mom said we are very lucky because my dad had to sit in a chair in my room until I fell asleep because I would ALWAYS get out and play. We love our little Alexis!! Can't believe she will be 2 next month!! Where has the time gone??
